Organizations
Organizations let you share configurations, destinations, files, and live stream management with your team members or moderators. Create an organization, invite members, and everyone can build and manage streams under the same account.
How organizations work
Every Streamrun user starts with a personal account. You can create additional organizations for teams, production crews, or any group that needs to share streaming resources. Each organization has its own configurations, destinations, files, subscriptions, and credits.
Create an organization
Open the sidebar and click the organization switcher at the top, then select "New organization".
Invite members
Go to Settings and open the Members section. Add members by their Streamrun username. They get access to all shared resources immediately.
Switch between organizations
Use the organization switcher in the sidebar to move between your personal account and any organizations you belong to. Your current organization determines which configurations, destinations, and files you see.
Roles and permissions
Each organization has one owner and any number of members. Both roles can work with streams day to day. The difference is in who controls billing and team membership.
Owner
- Full access to everything
- Manage billing and subscriptions
- Invite and remove members
Member
- Create, edit, and run configurations
- Manage destinations and files
- Access organization settings (API keys, auto-stop)
- No access to billing or member management
In the sidebar, organizations where you are a member (not the owner) show a gray icon to indicate your access level at a glance.
What is shared in an organization
All resources belong to the active organization. When you switch organizations, you see a different set of resources.
Configurations, destinations, and files
All members can create and manage these. Any configuration started by a member uses the organization's credits or subscription.
Subscriptions and credits
Billing is per organization. A Streamrun Go subscription or credit balance belongs to the organization, not to individual users. Only the owner can manage billing.
Settings
API keys and auto-stop preferences are scoped to the organization. All members can view and update these settings.
Dashboard and running streams
The Dashboard is the one exception to organization scoping. It shows running streams across all organizations you belong to, so you always have a single view of what is currently live. Everything else, including the Configurations, Destinations, and Files pages, is filtered to the active organization.
Common questions
Can I belong to multiple organizations?
Yes. You always have your personal account, and you can be a member or owner of any number of organizations. Use the sidebar switcher to move between them.
Can a member start and stop configurations?
Yes. Members can create, edit, start, and stop configurations. Running a configuration uses the organization's credits or subscription.
What happens if a member is removed?
The member loses access to the organization's resources immediately. Configurations and files they created remain in the organization. Their personal account and other organizations are not affected.
Can I transfer ownership of an organization?
Ownership transfer is not available as a self-service feature yet. Contact us if you need to change the owner of an organization.
