Modes
Once you've created Streamrun configurations, they can exist in three modes:
1. OFFLINE
The default mode: The configuration is not running, no video is being processed, and your pre-paid credits or subscription streaming hours are not consumed.
2. PREVIEW
Preview mode activates when you open the Streamrun editor and have at least one Output stream element on the canvas.
The preview video is lower quality (around 480p) and does not reflect the final output quality. Preview servers are offered on a best-effort basis and may not always be available to all users. At times, we may shut down preview servers to prioritize resources for live streams.Read more about Preview.
3. LIVE
Live mode is for actual live streaming, which means either an Input stream or an Output destination is live. Live mode consumes your pre-paid credits or subscription streaming hours. There are two ways to start Live mode:
Method 1: Click Run on the configuration's overview page.
Method 2: Open the Streamrun editor and wait for a Preview server to start. Stream something to one of your Input elements, or set one of your Output destinations live. This automatically switches your mode to LIVE.
Stopping LIVE mode
There are two ways to go offline and stop credit or subscription hour consumption:
- Stop the running configuration from the configuration's Remote control page.
- Stop your Input streams, go offline with all Output destinations, and ensure neither the Remote Control nor the Streamrun editor is active in your web browser. After five minutes of inactivity, your configuration will stop automatically.
