The Switch element allows you to change your active streaming device in real time without interrupting your live broadcast. This feature, also known as cloud shift, lets you stream from multiple inputs, such as desktop software, phones, and action cameras, and select which one is live using the Streamrun Editor or Remote Control.
Overview
Cloud shift enables seamless transitions between devices while keeping your stream live across all destinations. It’s designed for creators who want to stay mobile or switch between cameras, networks, or setups without restarting their stream.
Setup
To use cloud shift, add the Streamrun Switch element to your configuration and connect up to four inputs. Inputs can be, for example:
- Phones using any RTMP, SRT, or SRTLA-compatible app, such as Moblin on iPhone or IRL Pro on Android
- Action cameras like GoPro or DJI
- Computers running streaming software like OBS or vMix
Name your inputs clearly (for example: OBS, Phone Cam, GoPro) to make quick switching easier. Input names automatically carry over to the Switch buttons
Once connected, you can select which input is live at any time. Switching happens instantly in the cloud, ensuring your viewers see a continuous, uninterrupted stream.
