Twitch Dual Format streaming (automatic vertical video)public
Stream to Twitch in both horizontal and vertical orientations automatically using Streamrun’s Vertical Frame technology. No extra layout setup needed.
This template is the easiest way to start Dual Format streaming. It takes your horizontal video and automatically generates a vertical version for mobile viewers, so you can stream in Twitch Dual Format from any device or software.
How it works
- Streamrun automatically converts your horizontal stream into a vertical format
- The video is zoomed and cropped 30% and aligned to top half according to Twitch instructions. These settings can be changed by clicking the Vertical frame element in the Streamrun editor
- A blurred version of your stream fills the background for a clean, professional look
- An optional PNG overlay is added to the vertical video for additional styling. Use image sized at 1080x1920
- The result is sent to Twitch as both horizontal and vertical layouts in a single stream. Twitch then shows the right version to viewers depending on their device orientation.
Why use automatic vertical video?
- Simple one-input setup. No need to prepare a vertical layout manually
- Works with any streaming device or software
- Look great on Twitch’s mobile Dual Format experience
- Share your stream across both orientations at once
Tips
- Use 16:9 horizontal input, Streamrun handles the vertical automatically
- Add logos, captions, or calls-to-action to the top and bottom areas of the vertical frame
