A Resi alternative that works with the equipment you have
Resi keeps a church stream from dropping by buffering it at the church. That needs a Resi encoder or ProPresenter and adds about 90 seconds of delay. Streamrun keeps the stream on air in the cloud instead: a backup camera takes over when the church internet drops, and your slide shows if both are offline.
Works with the camera or encoder you have. $79 a month with the website player included.
How Resi keeps a stream from dropping
Resi's Resilient Streaming Protocol runs between the encoder at the church and Resi's cloud. The encoder caches the video, and anything that doesn't arrive is sent again until the cloud has it. When the church internet drops, viewers keep watching from the buffer, and the missed part arrives when the connection returns. Resi quotes a church whose stream carried on through a 16-minute outage.
The buffer is what makes the delay. Resi describes it as about 90 seconds for live streams and about 2 minutes on social platforms. The protocol works only from a Resi hardware encoder or from ProPresenter 7.3 or later with Resi's ProPresenter Stream, which every Resi plan includes.
Resi's plan for YouTube and Facebook is $99 a month, with no player on your website. Website streaming starts at $159 a month, and app streaming at $299.
How Streamrun keeps a stream on air
Streamrun sits in the cloud between your camera and YouTube, Facebook and your website. Its connection to the platforms doesn't depend on the church internet, so a drop at church doesn't end the broadcast.
Add a phone on cellular as a second camera. If the stream from the booth stops, Streamrun switches to the phone within seconds and back when the booth returns. If both are offline, viewers see your slide on the same live broadcast. They miss that part of the service, but nobody has to restart anything or send a new link.

Resi and Streamrun side by side
| Compared | Resi | Streamrun church plan |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube and Facebook | $99 a month | $79 a month |
| Player on your website | From $159 a month | Included |
| At the church | A Resi encoder, or ProPresenter 7.3 or later with Resi's ProPresenter Stream | The phone, computer or encoder you already have |
| Delay for viewers | About 90 seconds, about 2 minutes on YouTube and Facebook | A few seconds on top of the usual YouTube and Facebook delay |
| During an internet outage | The encoder resends what was missed, so viewers get the whole service, later | Your backup camera takes over. If both are offline, viewers see your slide and miss that part |
What the first year costs a small church
Based on Resi's list prices and encoder prices. Resi offers nonprofit pricing on request, so a church's quote can be lower.

Switching from Resi
Resi hardware encoders are built to send to Resi's cloud, so with Streamrun you stream from ProPresenter, an ATEM Mini, OBS or another RTMP or SRT encoder. Everything else stays the same.
1
Keep your cameras and slides
Your cameras, switcher and ProPresenter stay as they are.
2
Point your stream at Streamrun
ProPresenter, an ATEM Mini, OBS or your encoder sends to Streamrun instead of Resi. We set it up with you on the setup call.
3
Add a phone as the backup camera
A phone on cellular takes over automatically if the church internet drops.
4
Do a test run before Sunday
We pull the internet with you once, so you see what viewers see before it matters.
Questions about switching from Resi
Is Streamrun cheaper than Resi?
Resi's plan for YouTube and Facebook is $99 a month, and a player on your website starts at $159 a month. The Streamrun church plan is $79 a month or $790 a year and includes the website player. Streamrun also needs no encoder purchase.
Do we need a Resi encoder or ProPresenter to use Streamrun?
No. Streamrun works with ProPresenter, an ATEM Mini, OBS, a phone or any encoder that streams RTMP or SRT. Resi hardware encoders are built to send to Resi's cloud, so with Streamrun you use one of these instead.
Does Streamrun add a delay like Resi?
No. Resi holds the stream for about 90 seconds, about 2 minutes on YouTube and Facebook, so it can resend lost video. Streamrun doesn't buffer the stream, so it adds only a few seconds on top of the usual YouTube and Facebook delay.
What happens during a long internet outage?
With a phone on cellular as a backup camera, the service continues from the phone. If both cameras are offline, viewers see your slide on the same live broadcast and miss that part of the service, and the stream continues when the connection returns. Resi viewers get the missed part later, delayed.
Can we keep our YouTube and Facebook channels?
Yes. Streamrun streams to your existing YouTube and Facebook channels, so viewers keep watching in the same place.
Is there a contract?
No. Pay $79 a month and cancel any time, or pay $790 a year and get two months free.
